What we collect

Backtrack collects the names, email addresses, and mobile phone numbers of students and their parents, along with college-application progress and status (deadlines, drafts marked complete, application results). We do not collect essay text or financial account information.

How we use it

This information is used solely to operate the college-counseling service: to build each student's deadline plan and to send application deadline reminders and progress updates by email and text message to the student and their linked parent(s).

Text messaging

Text messages are optional and require your explicit opt-in — you are never required to receive texts to use Backtrack. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies (typically a weekly summary plus occasional deadline reminders). Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, or HELP for help. Mobile information and opt-in consent are never shared with third parties for any purpose, including marketing. See our Text Message Program page for how to opt in.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, and we never use it for marketing. Information is shared only with the service providers that operate the app (database and message delivery) strictly to provide the service.
